(352 words) B. Pasternak created the novel “Doctor Zhivago” for ten years, and, as the real lyrics follow, he paid much attention to the topic of love. Critics believe that in this work he reached the highest level for himself, as a prose writer. He masterfully reflected the lives of people, their experiences and drama during the civil war of 1917-1922. Especially against the general background, female images stand out.
In the center of the plot, the doctor and poet Yuri Andreyevich Zhivago is a man of fine mental organization, merciful and keen on. In the life of the hero there were several women, each of whom played a role in the life of the hero. The first wife of Yuri Zhivoy was Tonya Gromeko, a kind and sympathetic childhood friend. The young man considered her an “old companion”, a native person, but at some point he realized that he was in love with her as a woman. Antonina was an ideal wife and supported her husband in everything. Her soul is receptive to good and harmony. The image of Tony can be compared with Russia of the pre-revolutionary period. Therefore, Yuri was so worried and felt guilty for falling in love with another woman - Lara.
Larisa Antipova is a sister of mercy, a strong woman of a pure soul. Unable to observe what is happening in Russia during the revolution, Lara goes to the front after her husband Pavel. She becomes a symbol of life for the Living, the love between them is the most sincere, free, unlike anything, though not eternal. But a greater place in the heart of Lara is her love for her daughter. For her, as for the mother, the most important thing is the well-being of the child and, anticipating her arrest, the woman runs east with her daughter and the man she hated, who seduced her in her youth. Upon learning of the death of Yuri, Lara torments herself with torment, and in the finale of the story goes missing. The image of Larisa Guichard reflects the tragedy of a whole generation of people, broken by the revolution.
In the period of depressing loneliness, the hero meets his last woman - Marina. She became a faithful and submissive wife for him and with dignity endured all the hardships of life with a man sinking to the bottom. Marina is the embodiment of hope for a favorable future, which was so necessary not only to Yuri Zhivoy, but throughout Russia after the revolution.
From the foregoing, it can be concluded that the female images in Doctor Zhivago reflect different facets of Russian life and play an important role in the novel.
